FMM's Favorite Beauty Sprays!

I'm obsessed with facial mists! I just love how they balance my skin while keeping it refreshed, particularly on a hot summer day!  While I've tried many, there are a few that certainly stand out as favorites of mine!  I love that they're all unique in their own way and offer a variety of reasons to love them to pieces!

Tatcha's Dewey Skin Mist holds prime real estate in my nights stand! I love that with a few quick spritzes, this beauty boosts hydration with skin loving ingredients resulting in dewy, luminous skin anytime, anywhere!  It's a wonderful last step to my skincare routine that leaves my skin feeling and looking simply amazing!

I recently discovered Caudalie's Beauty Elixir 'Eau De Beaute' while on my trip in LA! Serein of Dress Yourself Happy actually introduced me to this beauty.  One spritz of this part serum mist part essential oils spray and your skin will feel alive and refreshed.  You'll immediately notice a cooling effect on your skin (kind of like the feel of peppermint) that is incredibly refreshing.  I'd say, it's like a cup of coffee for your skin... this baby will wake you right up!

Jane Iredale Hydration Spray is an ECOCERT certified product that plumps and hydrates your facial skin cells.  The 100% natural, 30% organic formula balances your skin's pH levels and oil production. This beauty is designed to calm and fee your skin while setting minerals.  The bottle is very travel friendly making it easy to take this beauty everywhere!  Major bonus, it smells so pretty!

Last year, on my trip to Portugal, i discovered a super inexpensive drugstore product that rocked my skin.  I purchased a bottle of Rose water for under one euro and loved the way it make my skin feel.  I used it after cleansing my skin by simply using a cotton ball drenched in this goodness to sort of balance everything out.  I quickly ran out, but thankfully i found Smart Bomb Cosmetics created 'Rose to the Ocassion' which is essentially a similar version of my beloved rose water in a spray form (even better if you ask me)!  This beauty is a great toning spray.  I love that you can use it after you cleanse your skin as well as after cosmetic application to refresh your skin.  It has wonderful anti-aging properties and smells like you're in a room full of roses!

These are my current favorites!  As you can see, they're all unique in a way and serve a variety of purposes.  I like to keep one in my makeup bag at all times because i find that a quick spritz of one of these beauties is the perfect 'pick me up' throughout the day.  I especially love to travel with one of these.  Seriously, the air on an airplane is so harsh on your skin and a beauty spray will quickly refresh and liven your skin right up!  So lets chat... do you have a favorite beauty elixir?  Tell me all about it! GET THE LOOK: Miranda Kerr - 2014 Vanity Fair Oscars Party

Are you guys as obsessed with the gorgeous Miranda Kerr as i am?  Well, how stunning did she look at last night's 2014 Vanity Fair Oscars Party?!  Her hair, dress and makeup were absolutely flawless! Want all the deets on her gorgeous look?  Celebrity makeup artist Lisa Storey shares step by step how she used Jouer Cosmetics to get Miranda red carpet ready!

Inspiration:

“To balance the sexy silver gown that fit Miranda so perfectly, I was inspired to keep a feeling of a fresh faced classic beauty.  I loved the bright pops of coral and peach hues while keeping the eyes subtle and soft but still with a glamorous feel.”

Step-by-step:

 “To begin, I prepped the skin with Jouer Anti-Aging Moisture Primer followed by Luminizing Moisture Tint in Golden.  I applied Age-Repairing Perfecter no. 2 in Crème for more coverage where needed and Age-Repairing Brightener in Medium under the eye area.  

On Miranda’s eyes I applied Crème Eyeshadow Crayons in Rococo over the lid, blending the outer corner with Crème Eyeshadow in Baroque. I dusted Powder Eyeshadow in Walnut in the crease and blended upward and outward.  I lined the inner eye with Eye Definer in Chocolat, finishing her look with lashings of Everyday Effortless Mascara in Noir.

The brows were gently filled with Brow Definer in Cendre.

For cheeks I patted Tint in Poppy on the cheeks, then after a light dust of Mineral Face Powder in Perle Naturel, I applied Mineral Powder Blush in Peach Bouquet.

Be My Valentine!

Ahhhh Valentine's Day!  While i was never a huge fan of this particular holiday, my perspective changed once my little girls were born.  Having them in my life made me want to celebrate the heck out of this day!  But you know, it's not all about them!  Here are a few things this mommy is absolutely loving right now!  

Too Faced Sweetheart Perfect Flush Blush - OK while at Sephora the other day, i absolutely fell in love with this stunner!  Aside from the fact that it's heart shaped and adorable, these lovely shimmery shades will brighten your complexion and give you that 'just made out with a super cute guy' flushed look instantly!  I have seriously found my new favorite blush!  I'm currently sporting it in Peach Beach! 

When i spotted this Picnic for Two basket at Anthropologie my heart skipped a beat!  Gosh it's been years since my hubby and i have gone on a picnic!  Wait, did i just say gosh?!  I'm getting old! Ok focus Carla... Sometimes, it's the simple things that fill heart.  I may have to pick this up and plan a little picnic for us... now if only this dang snow would finally go away!  Can you tell i've had enough?  We are snowed in again!  Ok enough ranting... 

Valentines' Days is synonymous with pink right?  Well, i think i've found the perfect pink to dazzle your manis and pouts this V Day! Check out this spectacular Bobbi Brown 'Uber Pinks' polish in pink peony!  This shade will turn heads!  Perhaps i'm a bit partial to the name as peonies are my absolute favorite flowers!  If you're looking for the perfect compliment to your pretty pink mani, consider this stunning Jouer Lip Gloss in Malibu... or if  you want to be real matchy matchy, they also make a pretty little pink in "peony"! These glosses add just the right amount of color while keeping your pretty pout hydrated and looking its best!  I absolutely adore them!

One might say i have a slight obsession with Alex and Ani bracelets!  I can't help myself... they're just so addicting! I swear, the bigger the stash the better the arm candy!  I hope my sweetie surprises me with this pretty little number... but if not, i'll get it for myself!  Why not right?! 

Everybody loves a sweet love note!  With all this new technology, emails, text messages etc... love notes have become a thing of the past.  But this old fashioned girl still loves a great hand written love note... this card completely stole my heart!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you've already seen this but it's that time of year again!  Allure Magazine is holding their annual Beauty Blogger of the Year Awards!  I encourage you all to enter.  I had the most amazing experience as a finalist last year and can honestly tell you that's it's been a life changing experience! I'm so grateful to Allure for giving me such an incredible opportunity and seeing something special in my blog.  For all of you that think... DIY Lipstick Art inspired by Jouer

If you follow Jouer on Instagram, you know that at many of their store events, they encourage customers to create their very own lipstick art.  Well, when I recently reviewed and fell in love with Jouer's gorgeous array of reds featured in their Fall 2013 collection, I knew I'd want in on the Lipstick art action!  I mean, perhaps it's a bit self indulgent but the finished product is so dang pretty so... why not!  So here's what I used:

1. Frames in your choice of size.  Also, i white sheet of card stock sized to fit your frame.
2. Your favorite lipsticks/glosses.  Of course Jouer is always a good choice!
3. Your pretty pout.... kiss the paper in various colors and textures.  

Have fun with this!  I have so many ideas about future lipstick art which I'll share with you soon.  But for now, i have to say that i absolutely love to see my pretty lipstick art sitting on my antique letter desk.  It makes me smile every time i walk by.  So go ahead and give it a try... and if you do, be sure to show me your gorgeous creations!  Kiss kiss... Lazy Beauty Essentials

 

You know... just because I'm a beauty blogger doesn't mean I want to spend hours getting myself ready!  In fact, as much as I love to share some quality time with my makeup, I have many days where I'm either pressed for time or just simply don't have it in me to put on a full face!  This, however, doesn't mean I have to look a wreck when I leave the house either!  You see, all I have to do is reach for some of my favorite multi-tasking friends and I'm all set!  Here's my list of 'lazy beauty' must haves!

 

If you followed my journey in Allure's Beauty Blogger Awards, you may remember that one of our challenges was specifically titled 'lazy beauty' which you can read about here and here.  Well, two of the items that I featured for that Allure challenge still make it on to today's list!  They're THAT good! 

 

Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Bricks in Bronze has been a staple in my makeup wardrobe for years now.  I have yet to take a Caribbean vacation without it!  I love that you can wear it as a shadow or swipe it all over your face for a slight shimmery bronzed look. 

 

Benefit's They're Real mascara is simply my 'holy grail' mascara!  No matter how many others I've tried, and there have certainly been some good ones, I always come back to this pretty baby!  The tip of the brush is spiky making it perfect for really getting in there and getting those lashes "batting" proof! 

 

Stila's Convertible Color is such a fun and easy way to add a pretty little glow on any given day.  A few dabs of this beauty will wake your pretty little face right up!

 

I fell hard for Jouer's Crème Shadow Crayons when I first introduced their spring 2013 line to you guys.  These crayons pack on the color and can be quite versatile depending on the color of choice.  I've used them as shadow, liner, highlighter and have even dabbed some on my lips for a little added dimension.  Love!

 

OK, I'm clearly a walking billboard for IT Cosmetics these days.  I've never met a product of theirs that I didn't love.  Their CC Cream is serious business! It's color correcting and infused with anti-aging ingredients making this perfect for my skin!

 

When it comes to washing everything off at night... I hear you, i'm tired too!  But I NEVER let a day go by where my face isn't properly washed!  How you ask?  Well, I keep Aveeno's Makeup Removing wipes on my nightstand to ensure that if I'm too tired to 'formally my face, I will never have an excuse not to!  Period!

Get The Look! Amy Adams Wears Jouer on the Red Carpet!

Makeup artist Stephen Sollitto used Jouer to create Amy Adams stunning red carpet look for the Critics Choice Awards last night!  Doesn't she look uhhh-mazing??? You've heard me chat about my adoration for Jouer before but now i'm even more in obsessed!  Here's how Stephen created her flawless look in his own words:

“I wanted to make Amy look simple yet polished for her first of many red carpets this season. First I used Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation in light on her skin and one shade lighter (Fair) for under her eyes. This foundation has an easy applicable texture to it. It also makes the skin look beautifully creamy.

For Amy's eyes I kept it simple with Jouer Powder Eyeshadow in Espresso. I applied the shadow all over the lid and dragged out on the outer corners. Espresso is a metallic-ky taupe shade that is dark enough, yet neutral enough to make Amy’s eyes stand out without screaming for attention. Under her lashes I used Jouer Powder Eyeshadow in Bordeaux; a faded grape and a beautiful color on the skin. By sweeping a color underneath the eye it widens the eye and they become the focus. I finished with a little black liner at the lash line to make the eyes pop.

For Amy’s cheeks I used Jouer Mineral Powder Blush in Rose, a wearable neutral shade. It was perfect. This blush has been on my favorite list for a while now.

Jouer - The Blushing Beauty Collection and Moisture Tint

I recently became acquainted with the wonderful brand Jouer after receiving a sample of one of their products in my Birchbox.  Curious, i browsed their gorgeous website not knowing that simple click of the mouse would be a life changing one.  I was quickly drawn to their stunning products and high end packaging.  Yet, as i glanced closer, i realized that the packaging was not only beautiful but functional!  In fact, it was kind of genius... GENIUS!  You see, all of their products are packaged to easily snap together and essentially create a palette customized by YOU!  Can you say uhhh-mazing??!!  I knew immediately i needed to check these out in person!  When The Blushing Beauty Collection palette and Matte Moisture Tint arrived at my door step, i am pretty sure i did cartwheels with excitement!   After hugging the package for a second or two (don't judge), I quickly ripped it open!  At first, i was a bit thrown off by it's size as i was anticipating a much larger palette!  Well, hullo... remember i said these products brilliantly connect to one another to create a palette?  Well, the geniuses at Jouer took this concept one step further!  They conveniently created the packaging so that it not only connects side by side but also top to bottom thus making this palette a cinch to travel with!  I literally had to sit down to take in all of this wonderfulness (if that's even a word!)

 

So now that I've officially declared my love for Jouer's jaw dropping packaging, lets chat about their equally amazing products!  The Blushing Beauty Collection palette consists of deliciously warm earth tones paired with luscious corals.  It's packed with all the essentials to make you look stunning!  The lip gloss in Cherish goes on smoothly leaving your lips feeling incredibly hydrated without the stickiness!  It's the perfect consistency and the color is so gawhgeous!  The highlighter and cream blush in Whisper Tint and Feather, are ideal for creating a sun kissed look.  The Sheer Matte Touch Powder and Bronzer duo are essential for contouring.  The Chocolat and Peach eye shadows are a perfect compliment of a warm bronze shimmer and matte vanilla!  The only thing you'll need to complete your look is a dab of liner, a touch of mascara and voila... stunning!

 

 

OK, so now that you're ready to go out and snatch this pretty baby right up, take note!   Pair this gorgeous palette with the BEST matte moisture tint I've every tried!  This creamy matte formula will indulge your skin in more ways than you know!  It's complete with SPF 15 and is oil free!   I love that it evens out my skin without feeling heavy creating a flawless complexion!  After all, who doesn't love themselves a beautiful complexion right?  This product is all you need to achieve just that!
