I've been obsessed with my beautyblender for quite a while now.  Seriously, nothing applies foundation so seamlessly as this powerful sponge! I use several beautyblenders every single day to apply my cc cream, concealer, bronzer and highlighter.  They come in several sizes to facilitate application. Most recently, beautyblender launched the mini which i just purchased and love!  It's wonderful for applying concealer!  Just when i thought this beauty simplified my life so much, i find out things are about to get even better!  Introducing the Sur.face Pro by beautyblender!  This is essentially a painter's palette for every makeup artist and enthusiast alike.  The back of my hand just did the happy dance! You can use the Pro to mix your cc creams, foundations, bronzers, concealers, highlighters... the options are endless really!  I find that in the summer, i need to mix a dab of bronzer to my cc cream and this palette is essential for mixing the perfect shade.  You see, this beauty is see-thru allowing you to mix and match against your skin!  Brilliant right?!  It really allows you to get in there and mix the perfect color for your most beautiful canvas... your face!  So go ahead, unleash the inner artist in you and play!

Back To school Style

Well it's that time of year again!  Parents are doing the happy dance while kiddies weep at the thought of going back to school!  While it's sad bidding farewell to summer, Fall is an exceptionally exciting time too, particularly for fashion!  So i thought I'd put together some back to school items that you won't want to go without this Fall!

A backpack is an obvious necessity.  But really, this is not just a school thing!  In fact, i find myself reaching for one more and more!  I always take one on short trips, particularly as a mommy, it's nice to have my hands free to tend to my girls.  Oh and your backpack can be a simple no fuss situation or a statement piece like this navy blue Rebecca Minkoff! Here are some amazing backpacks to choose from! A stylish pair of sneakers will ensure you get that extra mile in without hurting your pretty little toes!  I'm obsessed with this yellow pair! Celebrity Makeup Artist: Mary Phillips for Jouer Cosmetics 

“For tonight’s look we wanted to go more sultry than sweet, still somehow muted, yet in a very powerful way. You'll notice a very distinct Veruschka vibe (that famous model from the 60's), who was always made very tonal and shot in tans, sands, rich browns.  She looked like a queen of the desert, an aspirational woman, and that's what I always want to create for Camila. 

Camila's hair is long and straight with a severe center part (almost like 70's Cher) and it was the perfect contrast to her white lacey dress. 

After prepping skin with La Mer Crème De La Mer, I applied Jouer Age-Repairing Perfector in No. 6 (Honey),contouring with No. 8 (Tan).  I used Age-Repairing Concealer in No. 4 (Buff) where needed.  

The eyes were smoked in shades of tans and rich browns, defined eyes with Eye Definer in Noir.  Jouer Powder Eyeshadow in Almond was applied all over lids using Powder Eyeshadow in Cappuccino in the crease.  I used thePowder Eyeshadow in Caramel to highlight inner corners of eyes and Powder Eyeshadow in Crème under her brow to soften the liner.   I finished with Jouer Everyday Effortless Mascara.

I added a touch more bronze to Camila’s already beautiful skin with Jouer Mineral Powder Bronzer in Sunshine.Cheeks were a warmed by blending Jouer Tint in Bare and Mineral Powder Blush in Blossom.

The look was finished with a creamy nude lip using Jouer Hydrating Lipstick in Gigi and Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Oasis.” – Mary Phillips

Tweezerman Contour Concealer Brush

When i first learned of Tweezerman's make up brush launch, I'll admit i was pretty excited!  I figured, if their brow products are so incredible, i couldn't imagine their brushes being anything short of amazing!  Tweezerman sent over their new contour concealer brush since I'm a part of their ambassador program and i couldn't wait to put this baby to the test!  I own a plethora of brushes but don't have a single one that is remotely close to looking like this one so naturally... i was intrigued! After reading a little about this beauty, i gave it a go.  I used it to apply my cream highlighter.  The angle on this brush makes for quite a precise application.  I allowed the angle to work with the curves of my cheekbones and the end results were amazing! This beauty graced my cheekbones with the prettiest glow. Oh and it works beautifully with powder highlighter too! I have not put it down since first use. Interestingly enough, i have not used it to apply concealer as i think it works best for highlighting purposes. I also used it to highlight under my brow bone where the angle came in handy once again! I was quite impressed with this brush and have made it an essential part of my make up application routine!  I have my eye set on a few more from this collection but if you have any recommendations on which to try next, leave a comment below!

Lilac Love

OK so my love affair with this color began when i first set eyes on this Rebecca Minkoff cross body bag!  Seriously, i have visions of parading this beauty around town stat!  I find cross body bags easy, especially for shopping because it leaves your hands free to, you know... browse!   Oh and if you get the bag, you'll totally need the matching Rebecca Minkoff Mani/Pedi Fun pouch!  I mean, we all need a mani/pedi fund, no?  So if you want to go all matchy matchy, lets cat nails.  Can we please discuss this super chic Chanel number?  I adore Chanel polish!  I remember being pregnant and on bed rest and the only thing that brought me happiness was Chanel polish.  It was the one thing i could actually still do... paint my nails!  Needless to say, with all the time i had on my hands, my nails always looked flawless! I wear these Tory Burch Earrings all the time!  They look great and can be dressed up or down!  I love Ray Ban Mirrored aviators and currently own the green ones, but this pink option is super sweet too!  Love bright pink lips?  You need this lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous stat!

BIG Secret Revealed!

First, i want to thank you all so much for baring with my silence regarding my big Hollywood trip! I was sworn to secrecy and had to oblige.  I promised to share all that i could as soon as i could and i finally got the green light to do so with some limitations.  A few months ago, i was contacted about potentially being in an IT Cosmetics infomercial/commercial.  I'm a huge fan of this brand and was excited that this was even a possibility.  After a few months of deliberation, i was one of the selected ladies chosen to be part of this very special project.  I was flown out to LA where the commercial was being shot.  I met the most amazing ladies (all gorgeous IT girls) from all over the country.  The five days i spent in LA filming, shopping, dining and sight seeing were quite possibly the most amazing ever.  You can read all about my LA adventures here and here.

The commercial was shot in Jim Henson's studio (were the Muppets were filmed).  The first day on set, we were all essentially part of the studio audience where Jamie Kern Lima (the founder of IT Cosmetics) was interviewed by a famous (and gorgeous) celebrity.  I don't want to reveal who just yet because i am not sure that i can.  But you'll find out soon enough.  Jamie was her usual sweet self and shed a few tears when she walked on set and saw all of us fans sitting in the audience.  I think we all got a little emotional at this point as we shared in her joy.  It's pretty fantastic that all she worked hard for has led to so much success and now, this commercial!  This was a long day but definitely fun.  The set was absolutely gorgeous!  Sadly, my view wasn't so great.  I was in the front row right in the middle which put me behind a camera man so my view was blocked.  We were not allowed to photograph at this point though i did sneak a picture.  Out of respect however, i will not be posting it just yet as i am sure you'll want to be surprised when the commercial airs.  When the time comes, you'll see just how beautiful the set was.  There were so many fun surprises on set which you'll hopefully get to see, unless they end up on the cutting room floor.  You never know i suppose!

The second day on set was perhaps the most exciting.  This was our one-on-one interview.  I was so nervous but once the interview began, i honestly didn't want it to end.  I love talking about IT products and how they make me look and feel!  Once my interview was complete, i was sent to another holding area.  A few minutes later, i was asked to step into another room.  Well, surprise surprise Jamie was there waiting to meet me.  The cameras of course caught the entire thing... all the emotion, all the screaming!  I loved meeting her!  She is seriously one of the sweetest women ever!  She held my hand so tight and didn't let go the entire time i was there!  She told me that she reads my blog posts!! I couldn't believe it... Jamie reads my blog!  She asked some questions and i was so nervous and excited that I'm sure i spoke a million miles an hour!  I wanted to tell her everything that i felt about her amazing brand.  This was my one chance to let her know how much her products have impacted my life.  If that portion makes it to the commercial, it will probably be a little comical seeing me act like a gitty school girl.  It was just amazing! After meeting Jamie, we were taken to another studio where we shot our before/after pictures.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that mine don't make it on the commercial... oh the horror! lol

This was an experience that i will never forget!  Everyone was so kind, warm and accommodating. The ladies i met were all amazing, each with a story to tell. The commercial is currently being edited and as you know, these things take time.  Lots of time!  It could take as much as 6 months but you never know.  I will keep you posted with more info as i learn more.  I don't know if I'll actually make it on the commercial as they will be doing a lot of editing but if i do, I'll be sure to let you know.  Oh and the kit that is being promoted when the commercial airs is out of this world! Get very excited for two new launches that are sure to rock your world!  I feel so lucky that i already have these products and use them everyday!  I love them so much and am sure you will too!

So there you have it, my little secret is finally revealed!  So excited to team up with this amazing brand and can't wait to see if i'll actually make it on to the final project!  Thank you all so much for your support.  To those that knew and kept it a secret, i so appreciate it!  I love you guys so much! Fashion and Beauty Pairings Featuring Chloe and Isabel

I'm obsessed with gorgeous costume jewelry.  So the other day, my friend Melissa invited me to take a peek at Chloe and Isabel's Fall launch and honestly, i fell madly in love!  As i filled my virtual shopping cart with all the jewels I'd envision myself wearing this fall, i suddenly drew inspiration to create a post pairing some of my favorite pieces from the collection with makeup that i felt best complimented that particular piece.  So here's what i came up with! 

1.  Le Ro Co Co Statement Ring (also available in amethyst hued glass) paired with this Pixi palette.

2. Bouquet Rouge Statement Earrings paired with my favorite Marc Jacobs Kiss Pop Lippie in Headliner (my current go-to berry situation)!

3.  I adore these stunning Pave Paillette chandelier earrings!  I could easily see myself reaching for these quite often!  They can dress up any outfit yet look great with a fab pair of jeans! Swipe on this gorgeous nude L'Oreal lippie in Nude Ballet and you're good to go! (pssst it's the same lippie Kim Kardashian wore on her wedding day - this will either sway you to purchase or want to run with terror but i promise, it's a gorgeous shade regardless of your opinions of the K Klan)!

4.  Can we please chat about this gorgeous Cassablanca Tassel Statement necklace?  I mean, you really don't need much else when you put this baby on.  Trust me, you will get noticed in this beauty!  I paired it with my new Marc Jacobs palette (BTW let me know if you want it reviewed in detail).  The colors are fun and certainly make a statement... very much like this necklace!

5.  The Marrakesh Long Necklace is another stunner that will instantly get you noticed.  I love the color combo and immediately thought it'd look gorge with the same Marc Jacobs palette mentioned in the previous necklace.  The colors are fun and totally wearable!

Vincent Longo - Starlette Gel Eye Stain and Creme Gel Liner

I'm all about innovative beauty products!  Vincent Longo has released some incredibly beautiful and innovative new products that will have your head spinning with excitement!  I mean... an eye stain?!  I've heard of lip stains, sure... but eyes?  Talk to me Vincent!

OK so lets chat about the gorgeous Starlette Gel Eye Stain!  Soft, delicate pearls are suspended in an innovative gel texture for the eyes.  The formula applies like a sheer wash of buildable color across your lid.  Wait about 60 seconds and reapply until you achieve your desired level of of color. I love that you can keep the look easy by simply swiping the gel stain once across your lid adding a hint of color without the fuss.  However, if you want to play up the drama, this baby has that written all over it!  Two more coats and you're vava-vooming all lover the place!  My color of choice is Starlet blue (a navy blue shimmer) though there are four other gorgeous hues to pick from.  I've been obsessed with blue eye makeup so this navy option made me beam with joy.  Personally, i like to swipe it across my lids and dab my fingers over to smooth out the product.  I repeat until I'm completely happy with the look I'm going for.  Be warned... they're not kidding when they say 'stain'!  Your finger will be stained!  And I'm OK with that! Overall, this product is so different from anything I've ever tried!  I love that!

We've all tried gel liners at some point or another right?  Most of us reach for your typical black or brown... perhaps even blue if you're feeling edgy!  But Vincent Longo's line of Creme Gel Liners is way more fun than that! This formula is quite different from any that I've tried.  This beauty pairs cutting edge gel technology with unexpected dreamy pearls that whisper at every blink of an eye! Think I'm over dramatizing? The pictures say it all!  The creamy texture is highly blendable, making it ideal to double as a long wearing shadow!  Don't you just love multi-tasking products?  I know i do! I opted for the color Flamenco (a metallic mocha bronze), but you'll love the other five jewel tone selections as well!  It applies best with Vincent Longo's Precision Angle Eye Liner Brush #11.

All Day Look With Neutrogena

I've used and trusted Neutrogena products since i was a teenager.  When i think Neutrogena, i think natural beauty! After watching a few of Hayden Panetierre's All Day Look Videos, i quickly drew inspiration to create my very own #AllDayLook featuring some of my favorite Neutrogena products. For this challenge, i visited my local Target which is never a difficult task for me. Seriously, i practically live at Target!  Such a great place for all your beauty needs!  I picked up some of my favorite Neutrogena products and quickly began to play.

Here are the products you'll need to create this look:

The key here is to get creative.  Who says a lippie can only be used on your lips?!  Not this girl! Personally, when it comes to beauty, i like to chuck silly rules out the window and march to my own beat.  Here's how i did just that!

I love the way these products feel against my skin.  They feel natural, light and pretty. Neutrogena's Triple Repair Fortifying Shampoo and Conditioner make my hair soft and easy to manage (not usually an easy task for my unruly hair)! So there you have it... this is how i created my #AllDayLook with Neutrogena!
