What's up beauties? I know it's been a while but I've been so busy being super mom, super teacher, super wife that truthfully, I've been neglecting myself quite a bit. In fact, i think that I've reached a point where i am making myself sick by not allowing myself any time to breathe with my crazy schedule. The boxes in the beauty room are piling up and I'm feeling sad that i have not been able to catch up on my blog. After all, this is my happy place! But life is such and I've decided that i will do what i can and i will not force myself to do anything when it doesn't feel right. Plenty of times i want to force myself to go and photograph products late at night but truth be told, I'm simply too exhausted. Besides, if I'm not putting all of my heart and soul into my work, then it's just not worth it. I love the creative process, just not at 10 pm after a full day of work, after school activities, cooking dinner, packing lunches, assisting with homework etc. I need to be better about scheduling time to focus on the things i enjoy doing so much... photographing, writing, playing with makeup etc. I think things will ease a little now that Mimi is done with her extensive physical therapy. Speaking of which, November 1st marked the 7 year anniversary of her spinal surgery! That was easily one of the scariest days of my life! I look back every year on that day and can't help but feel grateful that she's OK. Well, she's not OK... but... she's OK! She has been receiving extensive physical therapy for a few months now because she has a prominent curve on her back and she hunches over terribly. Her posture is awful... so much so that she needs to wear a brace. The brace is extremely uncomfortable and she's having a difficult time adjusting. She cries... and i cry when she wears it. I wish she didn't have to go through this considering she's been through so much already. But i also realize that this is for her own good and this sacrifice will do wonders for her posture in the future. If any of you have ever been through this, i would truly appreciate any advice you might have for me that might help her keep her brace on for longer periods of time.
Anywhoooo... let's chat fashion and beauty shall we? I thought it might be fun to do a little instagram round up (pssst.... you can follow me on instagram here) . So many of my instagram followers have reached out about certain items in the photos above as well as the beauty products featured that i figured I'd link them here to make things easier. The pink shirt on the top left has been a staple in my closet lately. So much so that i purchased it in yellow and black! It's incredibly comfortable, washes well and instantly dresses up any outfit. The Burberry Velvet Lippies are seriously the most perfect Fall/Winter situation. I cannot put these down... the are super comfy yet create the most gorgeous, velvety matte lip! They're perfection! I've been loving kimonos for quite some time now and this gorgeous yellow number is currently on sale and under $30! Have you guys tried the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops? Oh my gosh they're life changing! Add a few drops to your foundation and your skin will look as if it was kissed by a unicorn! Obsessed with these gold statement earrings... I've been wearing them nonstop!
Gotta chat about my FabFitFun box as well as my Rachel Zoe Box of Style (click here for $10 off your first box)! The Fall boxes were insanely good! The gray blanket scarf is from the FabFitFun box and I've worn it a ton! It's so warm and cozy! The chic navy clutch was in the Fall Box of Style and I've gotten a ton of use out of it! I definitely recommend these two amazing subscription services (just to clarify, i pay for both of these, they're not sent to me!). Last but not least, my Charming Charlies haul was a major success! I'm obsessed with the olive plaid shawl, and sweet circle handle bag! If you've never checked out a CC store, you must! There are so many fun accessories, all color coordinated and super affordable! You can shop this post below!
Thank you for allowing me to vent a little! Hope you all have a wonderful week! Xo, Carla - FMM
