Meet my
makeup shy friend, Julie! She is a busy,
working mother of two, who also happens to be one of the lucky few who can pull
off a bare face on the daily and look naturally beautiful. Oh how I wish! Truth be
told, Julie’s pretty features means she doesn’t need much to look great. Lucky for her, she is looking forward to a
much needed date night out with hubby!
So what better time than now to show her some beauty essentials that can
take her already beautiful self to
‘vava-voom’ without overpowering her natural beauty!
To do so, I
reached for a few essentials! First, I
applied Revlon’s Nearly Naked foundation followed by NARS Light Reflecting
Setting Powder. Next, the super
essential Urban Decay Eye shadow Primer Potion to ensure her eye look lasts all
night! For her eyes, I used Stila’s In The Know palette along with Urban
Decay’s Naked 2 palette. These palettes
provide wonderfully soft hues that work well on Julie’s skin tone and eye
color. Since Julie’s so fair skinned, I
opted for Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara in Rich Brown along with Double Wear
liner in 03 Bronzed. To conceal Julie’s
tired eyes, I use new favorite… Benefit’s FakeUp concealer! A few dabs of NARS Orgasm adds just the right
amount of color to the apples of her cheeks.
I topped off this look with Urban Decay’s Super Saturated High Gloss Lip
Color in Glinda from the ‘Glinda’ palette.
See what a
makeup genius I am? I took a gorgeous girl and made her, well, gorgeous!
Seriously though, it was important to both of us that Julie end up
looking like a terrific version of Julie. Hey! We've been friends a long time.
I'm not about to lose her friendship because I went wild with a liquid eyeliner
and made her look like Snooki! (Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
and if you’re reading this Snooki… hey, what’s up girl!) In the end,
goal achieved, she looked great, she learned a few easy tips, had a wonderful
date night, and most importantly, we're still friends!
