January Labs

As a beauty blogger, I test a whole lot of skincare but only a select few actually make it to FMM.  You see, I take skincare very seriously.  I'm in my late thirties and know the importance of creating a good skincare regimen in order to preserve and maintain youthful looking skin.  When I find a gem, I  immediately have to share it with my loyal readers.  I'm a little bit of an instant gratification  kind of girl, but I realize that testing out skincare takes time and patience. However, there are a few select products that instantly make your skin glow!  January Labs, created by the gorgeous January Olds is a quality skincare brand that is fast growing.  Their press coverage pretty much speaks for itself having graced major publications such as Lucky Magazine, Real Simple Magazine, W Magazine and the Zoe Report.  "January Labs takes the same approach to their skincare blends as to those used in fine cooking recipes: each individual ingredient plays a pivotal role in the finished product and each must enhance and support the others."  As a January baby myself, this skincare line immediately resonated with me!

First, as a lover of great packaging, I adore the simplicity and style of January Labs' packaging.  The inside of their boxes is graced with the most eye catching mosaic print.  Yellow tones for the day cream and blue tones for the night cream... and if that doesn't give it away... just look to the tiny moon/sun in the upper right hand corner of the box! Genius right?!

 The Retexturizing Night Cream promises to transform skin as your rest with their fiercely-active ingredients.  This cream encourages skin regeneration and rejuvenation in a lactic acid-based formula and is safe for sensitive skin types.  The complimentary ingredients offer intense hydration, beneficial exfoliation that keeps skin smooth, soft and youthful, as well as treatment of skin irritation such as acne.  While I don't typically suffer from breakouts, my skin reacted well to this product.  My skin felt hydrated, nourished and smooth every morning.  This cream was very easy on my sensitive skin!

The Revitalizing Day Cream was the perfect compliment to the night cream.  It has been a harsh winter here in Jersey, so I'm always on the lookout for a moisturizer that is intense enough without feeling heavy on my skin.  This cream was the perfect balance for me!  The Revitalizing Day Cream promises to get your skin glowing at the start of your day.  It promotes skin rejuvenation in one fiercely active formulation.  Fine lines are minimized, elasticity restored, skin is firmed, plumped and hydrated.  The rare botanical formula is rich in antioxidants and helps to reduce the appearance of discoloration and the occurrence of sensitivities.  I seriously love this cream.

OK remember how I mentioned earlier my love of 'instant gratification' products?  Well, I'm about to share with you the superstar product of this collection!  Ready?! 

The Glow and Go Power Peel Exfoliant is quite possibly a holy grail skincare product!  Let me clarify how intense this product is.  The first time I used it, I didn't actually follow the instructions.  I used it in the shower by simply rubbing it all over my face and washed it off.  My skin felt crazy good!  Of course, I read the instructions right after and realized that I was actually suppose to leave it on!  Haha bad Carla!  I quickly thought, wow, if my skin feels this amazing from simply washing my face with this stuff, I can only imagine how it would feel if I actually left the product on for 15 minutes as instructed! Well, I kid you not, my skin was literally GLOWING!  Wow... I have found my new favorite power peel!  The only con for me personally was the smell.  I was not crazy about the scent.  Don't get me wrong, it's very tolerable... just not appealing to me personally.  Honestly, this is a con I can certainly live with considering what it did to my skin!

The "Glow and Go" Power Peel Exfoliant is a multi-action solution that oxygenates, exfoliates and increases circulation while reducing pore size. The cinnamon oil-rich Power Peel Exfoliant safely penetrates skin while causing a surge of heat that stimulates and activates the skin. It is also effective in dealing with uneven skin tone, oily, acneic, and dehydrated conditions.

How to Use

• Step 1: On freshly cleansed skin, apply a generous amount of the Power Peel Exfoliant on face, neck and décolletage. A warm sensation, tightening and pulsing sensation is to be expected and varies with different skin types. Leave on for 15 minutes.
• Step 2: Remove peel with water, or for best results use a combination of water and the Pure & Gentle Cleansing Gel.
• Step 3: Finish treatment with Restorative Tonic Mist and Moisture Balancing Lotion.

Overall, I'm very impressed with January Labs!  The products are quality and this certainly reflected on the condition of my skin.  I highly recommend them to anyone searching for a new skincare regimen!
