Bloomingdales 'The Makeup Date'- Read All About It!

Saturday, June 29, 2013

A few weeks ago, Bloomingdales Short Hills invited me to host an upcoming beauty event at their store called The Makeup Date.  I eagerly accepted of course!  This event was everything a beauty lover like me could ever dream of!  I know many of you expressed interest in attending though for some of you, distance was a challenge.  No worries, I've got it all covered right here... sit back and enjoy!

The moment I walked in, the energy was high!  Guests were immediately greeted by a Bloomindgales staffer with a beautiful swag bag!  A DJ graced us with some happy tunes while everyone enjoyed breakfast.  While this was happening, I met with some of the experts who were presenting that morning for a last minute chat.  At 8:30 am, the show was ready to begin!  I quickly stepped up to the microphone and eagerly introduced the first set of presenters!  The show consisted of 10 brands, 4 presenting in the category of skincare, and 3 each in the categories of complexion and color.

The skincare lineup was perfection consisting of SISLEY featuring their Black Rose Cream Mask and Eye Contour Mask.  CLARINS with their amazing Double Serum which I will feature soon on my blog.  La PRAIRIE with the Essence of Skin Caviar Eye Complex which I'll also feature soon because it's uhhhhhmazing!  And finally, skincare for men experts LAB SERIES: MAX LS.

Once these presenters were finished, Bloomingdales gave away some GORGEOUS swag... beautiful Long Champ bags filled with featured products!!!!   Wouldn't we all love to win that?!!!  While I read the lucky winners' names, the next set of presenters set up their stations/models.

Now was time for Complexion and this lineup was just as exceptional as the previous!  LAURA MERCIER featured her Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact and Foundation Primer.  Let me just say that this belongs in every woman's makeup repertoire!  I will feature it soon so that you could see for yourself just why!  Bobbi Brown, a favorite of mine, featured 'The Secret of the Universe' which is essentially her powerful eye cream as well as her color correctors and concealers which I've blogged about before.  These products can seriously make you look like you've slept for 12 hours... and honestly, any product that can do that I consider to be my best friend!  CLINIQUE featured their CC  Cream!  CC Creams are my new favorite product!  I urge you all to try them and you'll immediately notice a difference in the way your skin looks!

At this time, Bloomingdales gave away some more swag... a few more Longchamp bags filled with products as well as a gorgeous Trish McEvoy box filled with her products!  The last set of presenters set up while I engaged with the audience.

Color is always my favorite... you could say that I'm slightly... OK majorly obsessed with makeup so this was right up my alley!  TRISH MCEVOY taught us how to contour using their Face Shapers Compact!  Hey, don't we all want gorgeous cheekbones like JLo's?   I know I want her gorgeous glow!  DIOR had us all batting our lashes with their iconic mascara wardrobing!  Hey, you wouldn't wear the same thing everyday would you?  So why should your eyes!  DIOR SHOW holds prime real estate in my makeup cabinet!  ESTEE LAUDER knows how to do lips right.  They showed us how to create the perfect pout using their Cello Shots!  They look so cool!  I totally want to try them!

I closed the show by reminding everyone to use their $25 gift cards which was essentially the admission cost.  Bloomingdales gave everyone their money back via gift cards encouraging guests to stock up on their favorite beauty products!  Once the show finished, there was plenty more fun to be had!  Bloomingdales hosted a series of events at their beauty counters ranging from nail polish changes, to mini makeovers to tons of gifts with purchase!  This was definitely an awesome shopping event!  I did a little damage myself!  All in all, this event was a success and I'm so honored to have been a part of it!  I hope I have more opportunities to host beauty events such as this one!  I enjoyed every second and felt right at home amongst all these beauties!

Here's a video I put together illustrating some of the highlights from the event!

So lets chat, have you ever attended a Bloomingdales beauty event? What did you think?

Thank you SO MUCH for reading! XOXO Carla - FMM
