So while everyone was shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Pre-sale, i was vacationing in Aruba! Don't get me wrong... Aruba was dreamy and i while i enjoyed 11 magical days there, part of me was having major FOMO over all the amazing deals going on at Nordstrom. I have issues, clearly! Last year i basically bought an entire Fall/Winter wardrobe considering I'd lost 70lbs and had absolutely nothing to wear. This year, i don't necessarily need an entire wardrobe obviously! I wanted to add some key pieces to build on what i already have. So this morning, i grabbed my laptop and began shopping the sale online. Things go quickly... in fact, i received an email a half hour after placing an order telling me one of the tops i ordered was no longer available... weeeeep! After ordering a couple of pieces, i decided to head to the store and check out the sale in person. Well... let's just say i did not walk away empty handed... by any means! Shhhhh don't tell hubs OK?
The first items i tried on were these jeans and top. At first, i thought these jeans wouldn't fit but not only did they fit, but they're SO comfy! I love the ankle detail! They're slightly frayed and are cut shorter in the front and longer in the back... love that! Slipped on this top and fell instantly in love! Keep and keep!
I love yellow and i love bell sleeves so this top was initially a no brainer. However, it runs quite big. The top picture is a size 10 and it's huge. The bottom is a size 6 and it fits much better... however, i opted not to purchase it because it's open in the back. It would be fine with a tank top underneath but i already own a similar top and decided to just leave it behind. I hate that I'm second guessing my decision as i type this... uh!
This top threw me for a loop! I ordered the Cumin color online earlier but decided try it on in store just to be sure i sized properly (i ordered a medium and it fit quite well). I don't typically buy anything in the color shown above but truth be told i fell hard for the fit and the color. Perhaps it's because i have a bit of a tan but WOW it's perfection! Couldn't leave it behind! So now I'll have it in two colors and that's OK! The price is too good to pass up!
OK so this is a funny story! When i first laid eyes on these bell sleeve cardis, i knew i needed them. I wasn't sure which color to get and the only size available in store was an XS so i skipped in hopes that i could order it online in a small. Well, it's sold out so i RAN back to Nordstrom so fast to pick up one of these beauties before someone else snatched them! I ended up purchasing the gray because i thought I'd have more things to match but truth be told, looking at these pictures makes me wish i bought the other color too! Ahhhh Nordstrom, what are you doing to me?!!! (Similar shorter version here).
I went into this sale knowing that i needed to add a few good cardis into my Fall/Winter wardrobe. With that in mind, i fell in love with this sweet camel number. It's so so comfy! I could see myself reaching for this often! (similar here)
I'm all about a good bohemian vibe so when i spotted this dress online (for $35 mind you), i fell hard! However, this was one item i knew I'd have to try on in person. I'm so glad that i did because it's a lot more flattering than i thought it would be for my curvy body! I got it in a medium and it fit like a gem! The wonderful thing about this dress is that i don't have to wait 'til Fall to wear it! Yay!
I couldn't pass this fun adidas tank up! It will be perfect for my morning jogs! It was so well priced too!
OK so the store mirror obviously had a few specs of dust that sadly taint this sweet little v-neck sweater but can i just tell you how incredibly comfy it is! It's under $25 and such a closet staple! It runs big... this is a small! Size down!
I love the sleeve detail on this slouchy cardi. Truth be told, i was worried that it wouldn't be flattering. But it's so comfy and feminine that i felt completely drawn to it. It's available in black but i felt as though you could see the detail so much better in the lilac. BTW i typically hate lilac but this has a neutral, grayish undertone that makes it lovely!
Not pictured here are a pair of booties i purchased in store. They're so fun and so so comfy! I sized half size up. I also LOVE these! I ordered this top and this sweater online earlier today. The denim jacket in the first picture up top was a miss for me. I love the idea of this majorly distressed jacket but it's suppose to be worn slouchy and baggy which i don't love. If this were a bit more form fitting, i would have definitely bought it. If you love the look, keep in mind it runs big so size down.
A couple of things we should chat about before you go shop the sale. First, a few of these items have already sold out but keep checking. Often times Nordstrom restocks so if you love something that's sold out, be sure to keep checking. Also, i scored these awesome slides today for under $23... best part? They're ridiculously comfortable! Will wear them all Summer! Also, this bag (pictured above) is so perfect for my everyday errands and it's under $25! It's also available in a pretty flesh color!
OK you're all set! I know this sale can be a bit overwhelming as there are SO MANY items to choose from. Hopefully this little dressing room showdown will help you narrow down your choices! Happy Shopping! Xoxo, Carla - FMM
