I absolutely love this time of year! We spend most of our summer days hanging out by the pool, grilling and just enjoying quality time as a family. I'm so fortunate to be able to spend my Summers off with my beautiful girls. The memories we make together are simply priceless. While sunny pool side days are a blast, it's important to be safe! I've narrowed down just a few of my favorite 'mommy's summer essentials' to share with you.
One of the most important items in my 'mommy bag' is sunscreen. When it comes to my girls' delicate skin, i try my best to look for organic options that have the best sun protection. When i came across Promise Organic SPF30 Coconut Sunscreen Stick and Lotion i knew I'd have to give it a try. I'm happy to report it has not disappointed! In fact, we've been using it for several weeks and it has done a wonderful job of protecting my little ladies from the sun's harmful rays. This dermatologist tested, 100% natural, paraben free sunscreen contains a broad spectrum SPF 30 protection. It's Natural Non-Nano Zinc Oxide, safe for sensitive skin, fragrance free and water resistant (80 minutes), what more could a mommy ask for?!
Another major concern of mine is bug bites! Seriously, i don't know what it is but mosquitoes LOVE Mimi and I! They skip right over Olivia and my hubby and attack us full force! I always need a good bug repellent nearby, however, i hate the harsh chemicals in lots of the products on the market. Needless to say that when Fairy Tales Bug Bandit showed up at my doorstep, i couldn't wait to put it to the test! This DEET free, non-toxic and pesticide free bug repellent helps to repel mosquitoes, flies, fleas, gnats and other biting insects. Lemon Eucalyptus oil, soybean oil, cedar bark, citronella, peppermint and rosemary blend are all ingredients aiding in repelling bugs. My girls are just as obsessed with lip balm as i am, especially if the packaging and taste are on point. Naturally, they're totally drawn to the super fun eos lip balms. Their flavors are delicious and the packaging is so colorful and fun. Most importantly, they leave our pout soft and hydrated which we love. While my girls adore their round 'ball like' shape, i personally like that they're 95% organic and 100% natural. They are free of parabens and petrolatum. Needless to say, i always have one or two on hand!
OK so this next item is perhaps more for mommy than the girls but really, when you're chasing twinados around you need something to keep your skin clean and hydrated am i right? I'm a huge fan of Pixi Skin Treats! The Moisturizing Cleansing Cloths are always in my 'mommy bag'! These ultra nourishing wipes moisturize while lifting away impurities. Each soft cloth is infused with aloe vera and camellia oil to soothe skin, leaving it feeling refreshed and hydrated. They're amazing and gentle enough to use on my girls whenever necessary!
I discovered the invisibobble non creasing hair ties last year and they have literally changed my life. I keep a few everywhere... my vanity, my bathroom, my nightstand, my makeup pouch, purse pocket, upstairs, downstairs... you get the idea! But really, these things are amazing and since they're plastic, they're perfect for the beach or pool! Well, the NANO is a smaller version of my tried and loved original invisibobble. Closing the gap between hair tie and bobby pin, the NANO is an easy to use multi-tasking hair tool. I love using it to create a loose pony tail on my girls because they always complain that regular hair ties hurt their hair. It's also great for holding together smaller sections of hair allowing you to create an endless possibility of hair styles. My girls always make sure that i reach for these and not the 'tug and pull' ones! They frown upon those!
