The Makeup Show NYC took place last weekend and i was super fortunate to be invited as press to cover the event. This was my first time attending the show and i have to say, i was so impressed with the artistry and passion i observed during my two days at the event. On Saturday, April 30th, i attended the 'blogger preview' hosted by the incredibly talented James Vincent. He walked us through our swag bag content and new launches happening at the show. I found him to be so inspiring, passionate and informative. He shared some of his tips and secrets to building a great kit. I posted a video of the swag bag content on YouTube so be sure to watch (it's linked at the end of this post).
For those of you that don't know, The Makeup Show is a place where makeup artists and enthusiasts alike can shop amazing brands at heavily discounted prices in hopes of helping these artists build their kits. I know i certainly added some amazing things to my personal kit and am so grateful that i had the opportunity to attend this year. Also, there are several breakout sessions featuring inspiring artists.
On May 1st, i attended the show with one of my favorite Jersey bloggers and wonderful friend Nicole from Hello Miss Niki. The first booth we visited was Make Up For Ever. OMG did i haul some amazing things there. I've been such a fan of this brand for so many years I find them to be incredibly innovative and effective. If you're looking for makeup that stays put and absolutely will not budge, look no further than MUFE. Their artists were creating some amazing theatrical looks that had me swooning! OH I'm going to post a haul video soon showing you all that i purchased at the Makeup Show. I may have gone a bit crazy but the makeup lover in me simply could not resist!
Next, we headed to Kat Von D. Wow... the product as you may already know is beautiful and the quality is impeccable. I picked up a few more things and took a fun pic sitting on the KVD throne...
Our next stop was NARS. I had my eyes on their latest collection and made sure to stock up. I couldn't decide which of the two latest Dual Intensity Blushes to pick up so naturally i purchased both! The Dual Intensity Blushes are easily my favorite of all time! They apply beautifully wet or dry and i own quite a plethora of them! You will too if you give these a try!
We also shopped Amika (just about died over their super cute prints), Frends Beauty, Cinema Secrets, Embryolisse, Violette Voss, Bioderma, Skindinavia, OCC and more! One of the highlights of the day for me personally was meeting David Klasfeld of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. First, he's the nicest guy! Second, he's a creative genius! Third, he's a true inspiration. We had the loveliest chat... go support this brand because their product is super innovative and most importantly, fun!
