During Sephora's recent 4X's the points for VIB Rouge members, I'll admit i might have splurged a bit! OK a lot! Thing is, I've been hearing so many wonderful things about Marc Jacobs new Re(marc)able foundation that i simply couldn't resist! Also, when i attended the Sephora event in person, the Marc Jacobs rep gave me a sample of Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer swearing it was the best thing ever (she totally had me at coconut) so after trying it out at home, i immediately added it to my virtual shopping cart! Lastly i couldn't resist the Face III Buffing Foundation Brush! This was my first Marc Jacobs brush and thus far, it was worth every penny.
We'll start with the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer. This skin-smoothing, makeup extending primer is infused with five types of coconut... who knew there were even that many! Its nutrient rich formula leaves my skin so smooth and almost feels like a moisturizer upon application. It's not heavy but leaves your canvas feeling hydrated, nourished and well prepped for makeup while allowing the skin to breathe. It's formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates. It has a deliciously light coconut scent and definitely helps my makeup stay put all day long! Yes it's a splurge! Do you need it? That depends, if it fits your budget then I'd say yes! However, if you're on a strict budget, there are other wonderful and less expensive option that will work really well too! My suggestion is, the next time you're at Sephora, ask for a sample. That way you can experience it for yourself... even if it's not in your price range, you can still enjoy a couple of uses for free!
The Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate was pretty much everything and a bag of chips for me! I don't usually branch out of the IT Cosmetics complexion stuff too much because you know i love my IT products, but this was a must try for me. Wow, wow wow wow! This foundation applies seamlessly and gives my skin porcelain doll like texture! It doesn't emphasize my pores and absorbs into the skin quickly. While i can't speak for the 24 hour claims because who the heck sleeps in their foundation?! Not I... but i can attest to the fact that it does last all day! I'm head over heels with how gorgeous it applies and how light it feels. I feel as though I've got nothing on my skin. I recently reviewed the MUFE Ultra HD Foundation Stick and while i like it a lot, this is even better! If i had to pick between the two, MJ would win out big time! Again, it's a splurge so my suggestion is to go to Sephora, get color matched and get a sample to see how it wears on your skin. Foundation is such a personal thing... just because i loved it certainly doesn't mean your skin will too right? But definitely try it... you have to!
When i saw the MJ Face III Buffing Foundation Brush i was so so tempted. I must have added it to my cart a dozen times before going ahead and purchasing it. After all, it costs as much as the dang foundation! But i really wanted to try it! I love applying my foundation with a beautyblender but was hoping this beauty would change my mind.... and oh did it! Wow, a few swipes of foundation will instantly absorb into the skin by swirling this brush all over your face. The densely packed bristles make application flawless! Move over beautyblender, the Marc Jacobs Face III Buffing Foundation Brush is my new foundation bff! For real!
